THE NEED: A SPACE TO PLAY AND HEAL
Play therapy is most effective when the environment has been designed specifically for a child’s needs. The use of play therapy is considered a fundamental means of preventing and dealing with problems that young children sometimes experience.
Play therapy can help young children through difficult life experiences and transitions, such as:
- Trauma
- Divorce
- Personal loss/grief
- Autism
- ADHD
THE SOLUTION
The new facility will have a dedicated space to provide play therapy, as well as other supportive therapies, to our pediatric clients. This will promote positive parent and child interactions.
It will serve as the “hub” for our Youth and Family Services (YFS) Department, providing training space for advanced treatment methods for counselors, social workers, and other YFS staff.
