THE NEED: A SPACE FOR OUR PUBLIC SERVANTS

Oftentimes, local law enforcement officers and first responders are the first ones to respond to a behavioral health crisis.

Currently, we do not have the space to offer a reception and lounge area specifically dedicated to our first responders.

LCBHS provides services to 14 counties in the Southeastern region of our state. There are many times when a law enforcement officer must drive several hours one way to bring us someone in need of crisis care.

The new facility includes a lounge area dedicated to law enforcement personnel and first responders. It will be the focal point for interaction between first responders and LCBHS staff, which includes a 24/7 security team that often serve as the primary point of contact for law enforcement personnel.
